Ragnar at Zion – April 26-27, 2013

February 4, 2013

Ragnar is coming again to Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort this April 26-27.   For those of you who know what Ragnar is, then you’ll be excited to participate at such a grand location.  For those who don’t know what a Ragnar Trail Relay is, here’s a brief synopsis.

Ragnar Trail Relay

Teams of either four or eight people will run relay style on dirt trails through the woods and past scenic canyons on the property of Zion Ponderosa.  This  race covers 120 miles and the average race time is 20 hours.  This particular Ragnar Trail Relay will begin in staggered starts between 2 pm and 7 pm on Friday evening.  Competitors will run throughout the night under a canopy of stars as brilliant as you might see anywhere.

As other team members are running their portion of the relay, the rest of the crowd will be cheering them on, enjoying the night around bonfires, and participating in the festive atmosphere.  Teams will finish their races sometime between  mid-morning and mid-afternoon on Saturday.

Most participants will bring tents and will spread out across the vast meadows and open spaces at Zion Ponderosa.  With over 4,000 acres of land, there is plenty of space.   Learn more about The Ragnar Trail Relay at Zion in 2013.
