Zion Ragnar Trail Relay – A Successful 2013 Event!

April 29, 2013

Over 1,600 runners just completed competition in the Ragnar Trail Relay at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort (April 26-27).   The event was a great success as the weather cooperated completely and provided cool nights and moderate day-time temperatures for the runners.   Participants were in great spirits throughout the night and next day as they ran each of their three legs, and then patiently waited in-between.

Pam Weileemann from Heber, Utah volunteered at Ragnar because her sons were running in the trail relay. “For guys like my boys who are fathers of families this is a great experience. They brought their young children to this event and are having a wonderful time,” said Weileemann.

Groups of runners came from as far away as Atlanta, Georgia and from all around the U.S.

Zion Ponderosa and Ragnar management also cooperated with the local student members of the Future Farmers of America to provide an opportunity to raise funds for the FFA.   Members and advisers from Valley and Kanab High Schools in Kane County assisted with meal service at an evening dinner and provided a pancake breakfast in the morning.   Houston’s Catering provided a mobile kitchen to assist with the event.
