This past weekend we hosted a large group of blog experts for a retreat at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort.   Family Forward was the host organization and Zion Ponderosa simply provided the backdrop, lodging, and extracurricular activities.

Family Forward retreat participants treated to a scenic flight east of Zion National Park.

General Manager Michael Kane did have one big surprise up his sleeve, as he brought in some helicopters from Upper Limit Aviation out of Cedar City to provide some short helicopter rides for the Family Forward guests.

This is the retreat provided by the Family Forward organization, and this is the big event they’ll be hosting this fall with us.

Utah Office of Tourism – Retreat – Board Meeting

Monday, May 12th, 2014

This past weekend we hosted the Board of Directors and various staff members for the Utah Office of Tourism.   Much of their time was spent in planning meetings, but they did get a little time to experience Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. The UOT is headed by Vicki Varela and the board is chaired by Joel Racker.

While visiting Zion Ponderosa the group had the opportunity to ride our Polaris Rangers on Zion Ponderosa’s 4,000 acress that border Zion National Park.  From Pine Knoll, one of the high points on the property, visitors were able to see grand views in all directions.   Watch this video of this group’s visit to Jolley Gulch.

Zion Ponderosa offers a wide range of activities including jeep tours, horseback riding, guided canyoneering adventures, ATV tours, shotgun shooting, paintball, climbing wall, zip line, and more.  With six lodging types, a restaurant, and all these activities, Zion Ponderosa is also a great location for a corporate retreat or group event.

Access to Jolley Gulch is quite easy from Zion Ponderosa, and many people will walk, mountain bike, or even drive to an access point where this view can be seen.

Wagon Rides and Dutch Oven Dinners

Monday, July 29th, 2013

In summer months, and presently on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, of each week,  guests have the opportunity of taking a wagon ride through the forest to a location where we serve up a wonderful dutch oven dinner.

This wagon ride and dutch oven dinner experience offers a greater feel of the old west and an opportunity to enjoy a traditional dutch oven meal.   This is a great experience for couples, families, corporate, or other groups.
