Orderville Jeep Tour

Friday, May 4th, 2012

I experienced the Orderville Jeep Tour yesterday and it was a really fun and bumpy ride. The Unimog (German-made World War 2 vehicle) handled that rough trail like a beast though. Once we got down to the bottom, we went on a hike down to a seasonally running waterfall. That was a big drop off and I felt a little nervous looking down that far.

It was a beautiful day for hiking and I think it will only get better and better as summer arrives. After we got back to the Unimog, we piled in and got dropped off a little farther down the road to see a tree that was struck by lightning and got the bottom of it blown out. The hole is huge and it was a really cool site of how even through the trials that this tree had faced it is still alive.

This is an awesome tour at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort.

Golfing is in full swing!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Last weekend the weather cooperated with us as we were able to complete the golf course, which opened for guests on Saturday.  By the afternoon we had quite a few groups of children, families, and adults playing 18 holes.  Our course has it all – a creek, bridges, inclines, a waterfall, and lots of twists and turns.  You’ll also see both smiles and serious faces.

The girls are cousins and here on a kick-off to summer vacation.  Part of a larger group playing, they kept their own pace, enjoying the game, yet were still competitive with the rest of the group.  The young man crouched on the green was serious about his game.  Concentrating on the integrity of his score, he was double checking his numbers by adding with his fingers, all to make sure that he was the winner in his group of three.

Come and tee off with us this summer – membership not required!  It’s a great way to end a day after hiking in Zion National Park, an ATV ride, or canyoneering.
