We do not guide rappelling or rock climbing within the park. However, there are slot canyons on property located adjacent to, but outside of the Park that we do take trips to. Rock rappelling & rock climbing allow visitors to the Park to go places and see scenery that will be a once in a lifetime experience.
Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort has the only man made, indoor and outdoor, climbing and rappelling wall in the Zion area. The walls rise over 40 feet high and provide a unique experience for guests of all ages and abilities. Climbers that have no experience and climbers that are very experienced will all enjoy our diverse climbing walls. These walls are attached to an indoor/outdoor recreation barn that is home to East Zion Adventures-Zion Ponderosa's recreation concessionaire. East Zion Adventures provides a great staff that is committed to teaching the basics of climbing.
* Please note that we do not provide rental climbing equipment or climbing shoes.We do have a 24 foot-high portable climbing wall available for rent.
Please Note: Most recreation activities are weather-dependant and, therefore, may not be available during wet time-frames and/or cold months. This includes ATV tours, horseback rides, Jeep tours, and paintball. Canyoneering is specifically available between May 15 and September 1.
Staff Lunch Break: Our recreation staff take a lunch break from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. Guided activities are not available during this time frame.
