Summer season is wrapping up but there’s still time to enjoy a Zion Ponderosa Wagon Ride and Dutch Oven dinner. This has been one of the most popular events at Zion Ponderosa this summer.

Step into the past and go beyond imagining the Old West as you bump along the dusty trails across Zion Ponderosa’s spectacular terrain on the eastern edge of Zion. Close your eyes and listen to the creak of the wagon, pulled by our gentle Belgian horse or trusty mules, as you inhale the scent of worn leather and desert sagebrush. Roll through the Ponderosa Pine forest as you use every sense to go back in time in your mind.

Arrive at a clearing to the scent of a hearty Dutch Oven dinner wafting through the air, tantalizing your taste buds. Enjoy ribs or chicken, baked beans, cornbread and more. After dinner, enjoy roping games, Giant Jenga, and other activities with the family. This Zion Ponderosa adventure is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy. An evening wagon ride and Dutch Oven dinner is the perfect way to experience the great outdoors in the spirit of the American West.

Covered wagons are a significant part of western American history, especially here in Utah. For a more complete experience, book a stay in one of our Western Wagons (sleeps 4) for a rustic experience, or in our Conestoga Wagons (sleeps 6) for a glamping experience. These are great options for families, and kids love the experience of sleeping in a covered wagon.
