The past year has been one of the most significant in Zion Ponderosa’s history in terms of new projects, improved infrastructure and added services. While we’ve always offered unbeatable amenities, with the latest improvements Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is the best it’s ever been. From an expanded season to a brand new pond, check out what’s new at Zion Ponderosa this year.

NEW IN 2018

Open Year Round
Guests can visit Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort all 12 months of the year! Our expanded operating season includes all lodging and recreation options, plus dining. Now you can enjoy hearty meals made with local ingredients at Ray’s Restaurant all year long, including breakfast, dinner and pizza during the winter. In addition to our vacation homes, guests can now choose from Cabin Suites and Wagons when booking lodging near zion in winter. And as if adventures nine months out of the year weren’t enough, we now offer a full menu of recreation options year-round – yes, even canyoneering and ATV adventures – weather-permitting, of course!

Jeep Tours 
Join East Zion Jeep Tours for an exciting Jeep adventure to secret canyons and scenic overlooks in our brand new, highly customized Jeeps! East Zion Jeep tour guides will lead guests on a journey of exploration into beautiful, untamed backcountry, where Native Americans, outlaws and pioneers once lived. From petroglyphs to wildlife, geology and dramatic vistas, there’s more to this Jeep adventure than meets the eye.

Dutch Oven Cooking Classes
Zion Ponderosa guests can take their Wild West experience one step further by learning to cook meals Dutch Oven style. We’re also still offering Dutch Oven wagon rides, now with the option of taking the ride before or after dinner.

Pond, Footbridge, and New Open Field
As if our zip line wasn’t already thrilling enough, now it will fly over our brand new pond. The figure-eight pond be open for paddle boarding and other water activites, and features a footbridge for guests to cross. Adjacent to the pond is a brand new sports field for open use activities such as softball, soccer, frisbee games, and more.

ALSO NEW IN 2017/2018

Experiential Education
In 2017, we began offering experiential education for student groups across the United States. Customized programs allow students to gain a leading edge on life, surrounded by unlimited learning opportunities. Students will gain a greater understanding of Zion’s vast and complex ecosystem while exploring this incredible outdoor destination with fellow students.

New Trees
Beautification was definitely on our list, so to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our property, we began planting trees last fall, and are continuing into this spring. Look for new Ponderosa and other pines, plus fir trees along the main roads to Zion Ponderosa.

Our new camping area, Zion Crest Campground. An additional 50 shaded tent camping spaces are available along the canyon rim in a forested section of Zion Ponderosa’s private 4,000 acres bordering Zion National Park.

New Lodging
Also added last spring: six new Cabin Suites, 16 new glamping tents, and four Conestoga Wagons.
