Traveling with children isn’t always easy, but it opens up a whole new world for our kids. So mark your calendar for Kids to Parks Day on May 18, 2019.

Celebrated each year on the third Saturday of May, Kids to Parks Day connects kids and families with their local, state and national parks. It’s a great opportunity for kids of all ages, and their families, to get outdoors and gain an appreciation of nature. By visiting parks, kids across the country learn to:

  • Experience outdoor recreation
  • Appreciate our outdoor spaces
  • Learn about wildlife
  • Enjoy history, geology, STEM, art and more
  • Embrace their role as future stewards of the great outdoors

Curiosities Unfold

There are no limits to the vastness of the world around us. When you introduce kids to nature, curiosities unfold and imaginations expand in unexpected ways. New scenery, new climate, new people – kids will begin to see the world in a new way as they explore and learn to appreciate the great outdoors.

Close to Adventures

From Zion National Park to Yosemite to Acadia – no matter where you live in the U.S., you’re within two hours of a national park, national monument or historic site. And while visiting national parks can go a long way toward changing how kids and teens see the world, there are hundreds of state and local parks just waiting to be explored, too.

Beyond Making Memories

When you turn off screen times, families focus on each other and the moment. Senses expand when experiences expand. Imagine the sun on your face, the feel of the dirt beneath your feet, the rustling of leaves and the scent of wildflowers as you hike and explore. What better way to teach kids that the world around us is so much bigger than what we see on our screens.
