Imagine hearing the creak of the wagons and breathing in the smell of leather, sagebrush and ponderosa pine as you roll along the trail on your way to a hearty Dutch oven dinner surrounded by the beauty of the Zion National Park area. At Zion Ponderosa we invite you to be a part of the true American western experience on our wagon ride and Dutch oven dinner excursion. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest will enjoy escaping the traffic and the crowds and taking a moment to relax and enjoy nature the way the folks of the old west used to do. We understand that many people wish to have a genuine outdoor experience but cannot spend the time or don't have the gear to undertake a long expedition. Our wagon ride and Dutch oven dinner is the perfect solution for those nature lovers who just need a short escape.
The role of the covered wagon in winning and settling the West is well known. In our re-created pioneer wagon you will have much the same experience as the early settlers. Our gentle Belgian horse team will pull your wagon through stretches of sagebrush and groves of pines until you begin to smell the campfire and delicious Dutch oven dinner. After dinner you will return by wagon to the resort. Our wagon ride and dutch oven dinner is a great way to relive history as you travel through some of the most scenic areas in Southern Utah.

Please Note: Most recreation activities are weather-dependant and, therefore, may not be available during wet time-frames and/or cold months. This includes ATV tours, horseback rides, Jeep tours, and paintball. Canyoneering is specifically available between May 15 and September 1.
Reservations / Cancellations: We do encourage you to make a reservation in order to guarantee space for you and your group on Zion Ponderosa recreation adventures. Please note that by reserving your space we have turned away other clients and this cancellation policy protects the resort from monetary loss. Cancellations of reservations within 48 hours of trip departure are non-refundable. We WILL refund or reschedule if weather conditions prohibit participation in your scheduled activity. Staff Lunch Break: Our recreation staff take a lunch break from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. Guided activities are not available during this time frame.
