12 Hours of Zion Coming to Zion Ponderosa September 26, 2015

Are you ready to experience some of the best cross-country mountain biking terrain in southern Utah? It’s finally time for 12 Hours of Zion, our first annual Rapid Cycling Racing Event! 12 Hours of Zion takes place Saturday, September 26 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Register here.

12 Hours of Zion course on Zion Ponderosa

12 Hours of Zion is a mountain biking race designed for all skill levels from beginners to pros, and every level in between. Registration is open for solo racers, teams of two, three or four, and family teams. See pricing and team requirements.

The course covers eight miles with a 1,100-foot elevation gain. There are three miles of double track interspersed with single track, over varied terrain and through Ponderosa pine forest and more. The transitions areas will be at the start of the double tracks. See the course on Strava here. Rapid Cycling Racing uses the best MyLaps timing system, with two checkpoints to ensure accurate timing.

A pre-race meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Racers will line up at 7:45. Start time is 8 a.m.  Zion Ponderosa will provide lunch for racers. Showers, pool services, hot tub, zip line, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, climbing wall, and miniature golf will all be available for your enjoyment and relaxation after the race.

One night of camping at Zion Ponderosa is also included with your registration fee. Sites are available on a first come, first serve basis, but there’s plenty of room for everyone. Each campsite has a fire pit, a picnic table and space for tents. Participants can also choose to upgrade for a fee to any of our great lodging options, from Western Wagons and Cowboy Cabins to Cabin Suites and luxury vacation homes.
