Summer Evening Entertainment at Zion Ponderosa

If you’re planning a trip to Utah this summer, you won’t want to miss out on the evening entertainment at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. We provide a variety of fun evening events throughout our peak season, typically May 15 through September 15. Check out our lineup!

Monday: Ponderosa Tall Tales

On Monday evenings, join us for an entertaining evening of Ponderosa Tall Tales. We’ll share stories and history of Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, and give a glimpse into the rich heritage of the amazing Zion region. This evening event is the perfect kick-off to your Zion Ponderosa stay, especially for those interested in learning more about Zion’s fascinating history and surrounding landscape.

Tuesday/Thursday: Live Entertainment with W Duo

Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for live music from the talented W Duo. The husband and wife team of Wendy and Willie bring their unique blend of country, rock, and blues to Zion Ponderosa, providing the perfect soundtrack for a relaxing evening at the resort.

Wednesday: Be a Junior Keeper

Wednesday evenings are for the kids! Similar to a Jr. Ranger program, our interactive Be a Junior Keeper experience allows children to learn about Zion National Park and East Zion, while earning their own Jr. Keeper badge. This is a fun yet educational activity that kids love.

Friday: Roasting Marshmallows

On Friday nights, gather around the campfire for a classic tradition of roasting marshmallows. It’s the perfect evening event for families or groups of friends looking to unwind after a day of Zion adventures.

Saturday: Yard Games

Come play yard games on the Sportsfield each Saturday evening. You’ll enjoy a variety of classic games such as Cornhole, Ladder Ball, and Giant Jenga—sure to bring out the competitive spirit in everyone! W Duo once again plays the soundtrack for this fun evening event.

Sunday: Make Your Own Butter

And finally, on Sunday evenings, check out our Make Your Own Butter activity on the back deck of the Ponderosa Eats restaurant. This evening entertainment is super popular with families and groups looking to learn about the history of Utah pioneers and their resilience in creating everything from scratch—including butter! Each guest is given a saltine cracker plate, and a mason jar filled with heavy cream. You’ll shake the jar and create your own butter while we tell stories about the history of the pioneers and the Mormon Trail.

Stargazing

Don’t forget to add a stargazing tour to your evening entertainment—available every night during summer! (Weather permitting, of course). Gaze through our high-powered telescope and learn about constellations from our knowledgeable East Zion Adventures guides. Enjoy a cozy hot cocoa, too!

 

Yoga

Sunrise and sunset yoga are back this summer! Join our talented instructor on Friday nights at 7 p.m., Saturday mornings at 8 a.m., and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. for a relaxing yoga session. You can book ahead online or inquire at our front desk!
