No matter where you’re coming from, Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is central to many attractions including numerous national and state parks and monuments. It’s a great place to stay as a base camp while exploring these areas.

Zion Ponderosa’s 4,000-acre ranch resort literally borders the east boundary of Zion National Park. By road, we are seven miles from the eastern entrance of the park. At 6,500 feet, we have cooler temperatures in the summer months, and some snow in winter. Please note that a one-night stay is simply not enough, so unpack once and enjoy our numerous resort activities on the quiet side of Zion.

Access from Los Angeles and Las Vegas is via I-15, and there are routes from other major gateway cities such as Phoenix, Denver, and Salt Lake City.

Those traveling to Zion Ponderosa from the west side of Zion National Park will follow Highway 9 which ascends 2,000 feet from the main canyon floor, following a very scenic road and passing through two tunnels.

If you’re driving an RV, there are some requirements relative to passing through these tunnels. RVs and other oversize vehicles must pass through the tunnels during normal park access hours, but there is an alternative southern route for any traveler coming from the west side. This route is great for anyone who wishes to circle around the park.

Insider Tip: Zion Ponderosa is an ideal mid-week retreat from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, especially for those who work weekends. We’re also just a half-day’s drive from southern California. With so much to see and do here at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, you’ll want to unpack once and stay awhile.
