    Getting to Observation Point

At this point in time, Observation Point can only be reached via the East Rim Trail. Parking is very limited at the East Rim trailhead. Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort offers shuttles for guests and the public for a small fee. Book your Observation Point Shuttle.

The hike is approximately 7 miles round trip and can take 3-6 hours to complete.

The trail is a relatively flat with a gentle decent through forested area until it opens up with breathtaking views over the canyon. As it is out-and-back, the climb out has some up-hill. It is a long hike but with only 700 feet of elevation gain makes it a doable hike for many.

Once you reach Observation Point, you will have a bird’s eye view of Zion Canyon, Angels Landing, and the surrounding red rock formations. This is an ideal spot to rest, eat lunch, and take plenty of photographs.
