October is synonymous with spooky, and here at Zion Ponderosa we have all types of spooktacular adventures waiting for our guests. For the entire month, we’re offering guided ATV and Sunset Jeep tours with a spooky twist.
JOLLEY GULCH
Legend says that Jolley Gulch is haunted – it’s certainly one of the most popular ATV trails on Zion Ponderosa. The trail winds through ponderosa pine forest, past the abandoned Jolley cabin, and ending at the dramatic and mysterious Jolley Gulch which flows south into Zion National Park. (Ask to hear the spine-tingling tale that inspired the rumor or read about it here.)
Spooktacular Sunset ATV Tour (2 hours)
This thrilling, scenic ATV ride to Zion’s iconic Jolley Gulch begins just as the sun begins to set and the ponderosa pines cast ghostly shadows across the landscape. During this two-hour adventure, you’ll learn about the Jolley family legend as well as the Native American legend of the skinwalker. Finally, we’ll take a chilling walk through the spooky ponderosa forest, and explore inside the Jolley cabin – if you dare!
Jolley Gulch Self-Guided ATV Tour (1 hour)
The trail to Jolley Gulch runs past the eerie and abandoned Jolley cabin, ending at a spectacular 150-foot dry fall near the Zion Ponderosa property entrance into Zion National Park. The trail is scenic and technical, ideal for ATV drivers with some experience. A short walk to the overlook allows for a peak into the dramatic gulch.
Spooktacular Sunset Jeep Tour (1.5 hours)
This 1.5-hour spooky adventure offers a more family-friendly version of our spooky tours. We’ll head out to Jolley Gulch at sunset, and take in Zion’s serene fall beauty. A stop at the Jolley cabin adds an eerie thrill to this sunset Jeep adventure.
SPOOKY SLOT CANYON ADVENTURE
Explore one of Utah’s most secret slot canyons by way of ATV with an expert Zion guide. Experience the magical, dramatic allure of Zion area slot canyons and Zion’s colorful autumn backdrop like never before during this thrilling and challenging ATV ride. Participants must be experienced ATV drivers 16 years and older. This adventure is only being offered during October!
